Action Against Hunger (AAH) is an international non-governmental
organisation. Non-political, non-religious and non-profit making,
it was set up in 1979 to help relieve suffering around the world.
Its aim is to save people's lives by combating hunger, diseases
and other crises.
AAH becomes involved when natural or man-made crises threaten food
security and / or result in famine, when social breakdown linked
to internal or external circumstances increases the vulnerability
of populations and when a population's survival depends on humanitarian
aid.
AAH intervenes either during the crisis itself, through emergency
relief work, and / or after it, with rehabilitation programmes.
The organisation is working in 35 countries in Africa, Asia, Central
America and Eastern Europe, has 300 international staff and 4000
local staff, trained in the field.
Action Against Hunger has offices in London, Paris, Madrid and
New York.

be UK residents, EC nationals or be able to provide proof of an
unrestricted right to work in the UK on application.
Salary is paid on a quarterly basis into the field worker's home
bank account. In addition, AAH provides a daily allowance in the
field. Accommodation, travel costs, insurance and a pre-departure
medical and vaccinations are provided by AAH.
How to Apply
All applicants should have a full drivers license, an unrestricted
right to work in the UK and should be fluent in English.
Action Against Hunger UK recruits throughout the year for a register
which enables the organisation to send fieldworkers overseas at
short notice as vacancies arise. Job descriptions for individual
vacancies are provided to candidates who have been successfully
recruited to the register.
Contact AAH for an application form and general information pack.
