Australian Volunteers International (AVI) recruits, prepares and supports skilled, experienced Australians to live and work with developing communities throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Pacific and the Middle East, as well as remote Aboriginal communities in Australia.

Opportunities available

Trained, experienced nurses are highly sought after by a wide range of organisations in developing communities, such as local hospitals, government health departments, community health centres and nurse training institutions. Nurses are also assigned to work with other organisations in health education roles.

Conditions of service

Assignments vary, but most are for one or two years. For their contribution, Australian Volunteers receive a living allowance, return airfares, insurance, language training and pre-departure briefings, and some also receive assistance with housing costs.

How to apply

Potential applicants are encouraged to monitor advertised positions on the website, (www.australianvolunteers.com), and to fill in the online application form. General enquiries regarding recruitment issues can be emailed to:recruit@australianvolunteers.com
