CORD is a Christian relief and development agency currently operational
in Albania, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania,
Vietnam and Zambia. We work in both refugee and community development
settings and are looking for healthcare professionals, programme
managers and people with qualifications and experience in community
development, community services, agriculture, finance and administration.
Qualifications and Experience
Previous overseas experience is not always required. Applications
are assessed on an individual basis depending on the position. The
minimum requirement for nurses is at least one year's post registration
experience. Additional experience in tropical diseases, midwifery,
health visiting or paediatric nursing would be useful.
Most locations have very basic conditions and there is a strict
medical before departure, therefore a reasonable level of fitness
is required.
Terms of Contract
Initial appointments are for one year and it is hoped that most
people will extend to two years or more. All expenses are covered
plus a small monthly salary, part of which is paid in country.
Accommodation is usually in a team set up which might vary in size
depending on the location.
All our international and UK staff are committed Christians.
We regret that we are unable to process applications from outside
Western Europe as we are unable to fund flights to the UK where
all recruitment takes place. All applicants must have free right
of entry into the UK.
Additional Qualifications
A full driving licence is helpful but not essential.
Language training is provided depending on the project and the
length of contract.
Orientation prior to departure is provided in the UK.
How to Apply
Please contact CORD at the address above to receive further details
of projects and current vacancies or check the CORD website at www.cord.org.uk
