The Volunteer Missionary Movement (VMM) is a Christian organisation
which was set up 30 years ago. VMM recruits, trains, sends and supports
people with professional / technical skills who wish to share their
lives and skills with people in developing countries. We work with
local communities and missions in mainly isolated rural areas.
Most volunteers will be involved in training to pass on their skills. The
term of contract is usually for 2 years. Airfares, accommodation, medical
insurance and an allowance to cover basic needs are provided. There is also
a small resettlement grant on completion of the contract.
Applicants will participate in an Introductory Day, which is usually held
in the Regional Offices. If they wish to continue, their application will
be passed on to our Projects Officer and once a suitable Projects is found
they will then be invited to the 2 week Preparation Course which is currently
held in Dublin. The whole process may take up to 9 months.
