About the Trust
South Tyneside Health Care Trust was established in 1993. It provides community and acute health care services to approximately 180,000 people in South Tyneside and the surrounding areas. The main acute services are provided at South Tyneside District Hospital site in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, with community services delivered from a number of community hospitals, health centres, clinics and general practices within the borough.
South Tyneside Health Care Trust is small and friendly. Amongst approximately 3000 staff, the majority live in the immediate South Tyneside area making for a friendly, community based culture.
