NHS City and Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is an NHS organisation led by local GPs, who are best placed to assess, understand and meet the health needs of their patients, ensuring effective and accessible healthcare for all. City and Hackney CCG is made up is made up of 42 GP practices, which cover a combined population of 286,000 plus.
The CCG is overseen by NHS England, which ensures we have the capacity and capability to commission services successfully and to meet our financial responsibilities.
We are responsible for:
- understanding the health needs of the population
- facilitating the design and redesign of services
- buying services
- measuring the impact of services and how well they are provided.
Since 2017 we have been working in direct partnership with social care and public health colleagues in the London Borough of Hackney and the City of London Corporation to better integrate the commissioning of health and care together in order to improve the lives of our residents.
