Our friendly and supportive sexual health team are currently seeking an exceptional Lead Nurse (Band 8a) to provide expert leadership within our Integrated Sexual Health team. We are a busy level 3 sexual health service based in Slough. We offer sexual health services in Windsor, Maidenhead, Ascot, and Bracknell via our satellite service. We work on a Monday to Friday basis, working 1 Saturday every 4 to 6 weeks. Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for those who are open-minded and non-judgemental, with the ability to work in a highly confidential environment.

Working within Sexual Health, no day is the same and you will be met with a variation of cases from testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and contraception. Giving you the exposure to develop and enhance your current skillset!
Main duties of the job
As the Lead Nurse (Band 8a) for Integrated Sexual Health, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of top-tier nursing practice and clinical care to our patients. With a primary focus on clinical leadership, you will lead multidisciplinary team, shape clinical protocols, and provide expert guidance on GUM, and Contraception.
As the Lead Nurse you will provide strong leadership and management to develop nursing at a strategic and operational level within the service. Working with the Consultants and the Service Manager.
The Lead Nurse will help drive and shape the Sexual Health Service as it evolves to meet the demands of commissioners and the local community, ensuring the effective use of technology and the continued development of advanced nursing practice within the service.
The Lead Nurse is expected to deliver high quality training, education, and clinical assessments, providing a highly visible and professional presence and being responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients of the Sexual Health Service. The post holder will have direct managerial responsibility over the Nursing and Health Advising teams and provide clinical support and supervision to the wider nursing team.
The Lead Nurse will work to further strengthen the relationships with others across both professional and primary care boundaries, including local agencies, social services, key stakeholders, and partners.

Training
Essential criteria
- Recognised qualification in management of sexually transmitted infections/STIF Intermediate or equivalen
- Recognised qualification in reproductive healthcare/ DFSRH
- Teaching and assigning training (SLICE, ENB 998)
- Willingness to undertake Non-Medical Prescribers Training
- LoC IUT/Certificate in sub-dermal implants
- LoC SDI/Certificate in Intra uterine techniques
Desirable criteria
- Stif Advanced
- Facility registered trainer

- Extensive post qualification experience
- Significant experience in Sexual Health
- Experience in innovative Sexual Health
- Proven experience of leadership and managing change in challenging environments.
