We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic Scrub Practitioner (Nurse/ODP) to join our Day Surgery Unit looking after patients undergoing procedures such as General and Orthopaedic surgery.
Working as part of a team, the role requires a flexible approach to work with the ability to communicate and work well with the wider multidisciplinary team.
Llandudno General Hospital is working towards developing its services, so this is an exciting time to join our service and be part of a fantastic Theatre team.
Although you will be based at Day Surgery Unit in Llandudno General Hospital on occasions you may be required to work in Main Theatres at Ysbyty Gwynedd to meet services demand and to develop your skills to become a flexible practitioner. It is essential that you are keen to learn and committed to continuous professional development.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurses/ODP to join our busy Scrub Team within Day Surgery Unit at Llandudno. Working as part of a team, the role requires a flexible approach to work. . Part-time post.
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based patient care. Clinical expertise is utilised during all phases of the peri-operative period. In other areas such as Pain Block room and at the main YG when required.
The post holder will work collaboratively and co-operatively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, meeting the needs of the patient whilst under no direct supervision. Assist in the management and organisation of clinical and satellite areas, implementing improvements to working practices as identified by audit/clinical trials. Participate in the education and development of other staff members and students.
The Day Surgery Unit operates Monday to Friday, covering surgical specialties such as, General Surgery, Orthopaedics and Trauma.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Skilled assistance is provided in the surgical care of the patient.These skills can also be employed in other areas of Theatre, such as Anaesthetics with the recognised qualification and in recovery and in other satellite areas such as X-Ray and covering lists over in YG as required .
