Senior Staff Nurse (Haematology)
West Ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital has a full time vacancy for a band 6 Senior Staff Nurse. West Ward is a Haematology Day Unit , which is open Monday to Friday 08.30 - 17.00, offering a comprehensive range of treatments, procedures and monitoring interventions to haematology patients. We are looking for a hardworking, motivated nurse with least 2 yrs post registration Oncology-Haematology experience to join our friendly team. You will need excellent time management and communication skills at all levels of the multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will have the support and opportunity to further develop their clinical, management and leadership skills to fulfill the role of supporting the Ward Sister and managing the day to day running of the unit in her absence.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will facilitate the provision of a coordinated, high quality outpatient service to Haematology patient in consultation with the ward manager and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
To be able to work autonomously and also part of a team.
To provide efficient, effective and evidence-based nursing care to patients.
To be competent in the recognition of life threatening/reactions and act appropriately.
To organise workload in line with clinical priorities.
