Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Epilepsies

Job overview

You will be required to provide specialist nursing skills, knowledge and expertise to patients and their families/carers affected by epilepsy.

We are looking for someone who works well within a team, with excellent communication skills and capable of working autonomously.

We will offer you involvement in a variety academic projects.

Main duties of the job

Work as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team and at times liaising and acting as a specialist resource across multi-agency specialties.

You will be required to work autonomously in clinic settings across the region. Be required to take telephone help line messages and triage patient queries offering support and advice respective to seizure management or on-going care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To deliver autonomous advanced level practice encompasses aspects of education, research and management but is firmly grounded in direct compassionate care provision or clinical work with patients, families, caseloads and populations.
Practitioners working at an advanced level will promote public health and well-being using ‘making every contact count’ as an approach to change behaviour through interactions with individuals, carers and families to support them in making positive changes to their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
The role will be 80% clinical and 20% non-clinical.

Person specification

Ability to work at Masters level, or working towards
