The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is looking for dedicated and forward thinking NHS experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses to join the Trust Staff Bank.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high quality patient care. Applicants must be dedicated to improving and encouraging positive patient experiences and deliver on our values of Care, Respect and Responsibility. You need to work as part of a team, possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrate an understanding of issues of confidentiality and have recent proven experience in an NHS acute hospital setting.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse

Knowledge & Training

Essential criteria
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act (1983/2007).
  • Working knowledge of implementing clinical policies and procedures
  • Understanding of restrictive interventions and de-escalation techniques
  • Knowledge of a full range of therapeutic skills and approaches

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Have an excellent understanding of – and experience of working with patients who have suffered trauma – demonstrating trauma informed care.
  • Experience of working with patients in an inpatient mental health setting
  • Experience of commencing and downgrading enhanced observations to high-risk patients.
  • Experience of working with patients who may be confused or present with challenging behaviour

Communications

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with an enthusiastic approach to the provision of high-quality care and safe care delivery
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Acts as an advocate for vulnerable people and staff where necessary

Planning & Organisational Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload Essential
