Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (the UHB) is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 30 MONTHS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE.
An exciting opportunity has now arisen for one enthusiastic and innovative professional to join the All Wales Medical Genomics Service (AWMGS). The post aims to improve opportunities for professional training for new entrants to the field from varied backgrounds.
The post holder will contribute, under supervision, to the provision of genetic counselling services and will be given training and educational opportunities appropriate to their personal learning needs, including support towards completion of the portfolio for genetic counsellor registration. As a consequence the post-holder will be expected to gain experience on a rotational basis within the AWMGS.
This position is based in the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff
AWMGS is a major stakeholder in the Welsh Government’s plan to create a sustainable, internationally-competitive environment for genetics and genomics. In July 2017 the launch and investment of monies to support the Genomics for Precision Medicine Strategy is looking to develop a service that is innovative, responsive and well-connected to the major genetics and genomics initiatives that are evolving worldwide.
