THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 6 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE

HMP Cardiff is a reman prison with 840 spaces. The team see an average of 350 new men each month. The prison is a challenging but rewarding environment and offers a diverse range of healthcare to the men for both physical and mental Health issues.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within HMP Cardiff for a Sister / Charge Nurse to join the team for a fixed 6 month period. This is a new role and we are looking for someone who cane develop and implement the role and develop a role profile

The successful individual must have experience of managing staff and can act as a role model. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and motivated to implement service improvements and experience and it is essential that they have a proven track record of service improvement and change management. The ability to lead in multi agency environment is essential

The successful applicant will deputise in the Senior Nurses absence and take the lead on day to day operational management of the service across both the prison estate and the Healthcare wing.

We are looking for someone who has experience within the quality, safety and patient experience arena and can drive up excellence in care provision and develop a robust senior management team to maintain this

This is an exciting development within healthcare and would be an ideal challenge for anyone who is passionate about prison health and is looking for new skills and experience.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
