This is a Fixed Term/Secondment vacancy until 31/01/2025

If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Midwife to work within the Ceredigion Community Team providing all aspects of Midwifery care for women and their families in the community setting. 

You will be key in providing and increasing Midwifery Led Care and promoting home births and supporting the Obstetric Led Care Unit at Bronglais General Hospital.

You will also be the co-ordinator of care for high risk pregnancies working closely with the multi-disciplinary teams to ensure a high quality seamless service.

This is a fixed term, part time position (22.5 hours a week) vacancy. 

Main duties of the job

A midwife is responsible for their own practice and therefore the post holder will be expected to maintain a high standard of professional expertise and to ensure that the highest standard of midwifery care is given during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.

Provide professional leadership and mentoring to less experienced midwives and support to colleagues in a multi-disciplinary team.

Provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to a defined group of women, babies and their families in the hospital and community setting.

Co-operate and liaise with all members of staff, the primary health care team, the medical and midwifery staff in the unit to endeavour to foster team spirit and ensure continuity of care.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
