This is a fixed term post for 12 months, due to funding.

This is a innovative and brand new concept in the formulation of ‘Peer Mentor Support Worker’, emphasising the significant and integral role of ‘peer support’, which focuses on the importance of establishing ‘strong therapeutic relationships’ with the women who use our service, building trust, and promoting confidence and self esteem, promoting the ability to make informed choices regarding care and treatment.
Full training and supervision will be provided for the successful candidate of this new and exciting opportunity. The post holder will assist in the facilitation of our Specialist Interventions, via group work, and 1 – 1 work, and will work closely with our midwifery and Health Visiting colleagues, whilst carrying a small and designated caseload for specific 1 – 1 intervention’s.
The successful candidate will be based with the Specialist Perinatal Service in Ty Myddfai in Carmarthen; however some travel would be expected dependant upon workload and priority.
Those with lived experience of Perinatal Mental Health Issues/problems are strongly invited to apply, but this is not an essential requirement, however, the ability to demonstrate genuine empathy and clinical integrity regarding their work is.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply
