This is a fixed term/secondment vacancy until 19/05/2025.

If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

The pre assessment department is a busy working environment where you will see patients and prepare them for their up coming surgery.

You will have your own daily clinic where you will greet patients and perform all the required tests. You will be guided and supported by the qualified nurse on shift.

Working in a multi disciplinary team the right candidate would be expected to support the qualified nursing staff and contribute to the pre assessment process and patient care. They will also need to communicate effectively with other team members at all times across all of the integrated teams and demonstrate a flexible approach to the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

The pre assessment department in Prince Phillip  Hospital, Llanelli  are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Health Care Support Worker to join their existing team of Nurses, on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. 

The right candidate would be expected to support the qualified nursing staff and contribute to the pre assessment process and patient care. They will also need to communicate effectively with other team members at all times across all of the integrated teams and demonstrate a flexible approach to the needs of the service.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Education in general academic subjects
  • Attained NVQ II or equivalent in health related area
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ III or equivalent
  • Skills to care or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience within a health care setting
  • Demonstrates experience of administrative/Clerical Skills e.g. Welsh PAS, Welsh Clinical Portal
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in Pre-operative assessment departments
  • Waiting list understanding
