Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our team based at Ilkeston Community Hospital in the Erewash locality!

Previous experience of working in health and social care is essential.

We are willing to consider offering this post as a band 4 Nursing Associate role dependent on your experience and qualifications. We would make that decision following interview and review of your application with provision of the necessary evidence.

As a clinical employee it will be your responsibility to ensure that your behaviour and values reflect those set out in the DCHS Way.

A good standard of English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent) and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) is required, along with excellent communication skills.

Access to and ability to use transport within the Erewash locality is essential. You will work as part of a wider integrated team providing holistic care to patients in their own homes and care home settings.

Main duties of the job

This post will involve working within a community nursing team visiting patients within their own homes.  The successful applicant will:

Assess, implement and evaluate individualised patient care in the most efficient and clinically effective way whilst maintaining the patient’s privacy and dignity.

Provide the delivery of high-quality care and actively support the District Nurse in the management of the health care environment.

Work in close collaboration with the Integrated Community Teams.

Working for our organisation

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.

During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.

As an employer and sponsor licence holder, to be able to provide sponsorship to overseas nationals via the Skilled Worker route we must ensure that we adhere to the sponsorship requirements set by UK Visa’s and Immigration.

After carefully reviewing this role, we do not believe that this position meets the requirements for sponsorship. For details on eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa, please follow this link to the gov.uk website Skilled Worker visa: Overview - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)”
