You’ll work alongside a diverse team of Consultants, Pharmacists, Advanced Nurse Clinicians, Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Senior ED Nurses, Children’s Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

We are a forward thinking department with an emphasis on staff development, we have a team of Clinical Educators based in the department who deliver up to date training for all your learning needs via a range of departmental study days such as:

  • Triage process
  • Minor injury assessment & management
  • Resus training
  • Major trauma training
  • Acute paediatric care

There is access to CPD funding at University level along with trainee pathways into ENP and ACP roles, so there is always something new to learn and get involved in!

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Providing and delivering a high standard of nursing care by initiating and co- ordinating the assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating of individual patients needs based on evidence. This includes all aspects of care from admission to

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Recent post registration demonstrable experience of working within an acute care environment
  • Understanding of general medical/surgical conditions
  • Full understanding of the Band 5 responsibilities and accountability
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrable experience working within the Emergency Department setting
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a clinical area

Qualifications

  • NMC Registered Nurse
