With a budget of around £365m, three hospitals and 5,500 staff, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside.

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic registered nurses to join Endoscopy and Bowel Cancer Services Department within the trust. Endoscopy experience preferred but not essential

this is a  fixed term post  vacancy 

North Tees and Hartlepool Endoscopy units are recognized for providing both high level quality care to our patients and exceptional learning opportunities for all members of the team  

The successful applicant will work within a multidisciplinary team and across clinical boundaries in support of patient care. Good communication is essential as you will be expected to communicate effectively with patients their relatives and carers and other professionals working in the trust.


Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work in all areas of the department which includes  admitting recovery and discharge of patients  working in the procedure rooms participating on  24 hour emergency on call at both the North Tees and the Hartlepool site

main responsibilities are work as part of a multidisciplinary team participating  in all aspects of clinical   care  of patients  attending the unit including admission  and  discharge  and recovery  working within procedure rooms assiting in complex  therapeutic  procedures

  • 1st Level registered nurse/degree/diploma in nursing
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching and assessing qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • post registraion experience in a clinical setting evidenc of on going professional development
Desirable criteria
  • endoscopy experience

Skills /aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • excellent communication skills ability to work on own initiative
Desirable criteria
  • experience of dealing with members of the public

  • flexible able to cope with different work environments
