Job overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to help us deliver high quality patient focused care in our busy Ophthalmic Outpatient Department.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills within this interesting and varied speciality. Experience in this specialty is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided and you will be well supported by the existing team members.

Main duties of the job

To work mainly within the Ophthalmic Out-Patient Department and AMD clinic. Duties will include organising and co-ordinating Out Patient Clinics.

Assesses care needs and develops, implements and evaluates programmes of care.

Provides specialist information and support within the ophthalmic department.

  • Diploma Degree ENB 998 or Mentorship Level 3 Specialist nursing qualification

Experience

  • Generic Pre Registration Experience in a care environment
  • For senior posts it is essential to have 1 year’s recent experience in chosen speciality.

  • Experience of chosen speciality
  • NHS Experience

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Effective interpersonal/ communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own and others workload, matching needs and skills
  • Competent in drug calculation and use of infusion equipment
