Critical Care Outreach Sister / Charge Nurse

Band 7

The Critical Care Outreach team (CCOT) covers 2 hospital sites and currently provides seven day week service at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton (07.30-20.00) and 24/7 service at Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse with extensive acute and critical care experience to join the team. This is an ideal opportunity for a critical care or acute care nurse who wishes to expand their clinical skills, to work autonomously within a supportive and progressive team. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across both hospital sites (12 hour shifts with internal rotation of nights and weekends)

The CCO service is led by a nurse consultant. It provides expert assistance and support to acutely and critically ill patients outside the critical care unit. This includes patients recovering from critical illness and those at risk of deterioration (in ward and emergency care environments). You will work in collaboration with ward based teams and take part in education programmes for all groups of staff.

Posts in the Trust are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, and cautions.

Appointment to this role will commence at the lowest salary point unless confirmed otherwise by HR Employment Services (Recruitment, Administration & Terms and Conditions)

We may also use this advert to build our Bank staff. If you are unsuccessful at interview for a substantive role but meet the BSUH standards you may be offered a bank post.

If this post attracts sufficient interest before the closing date, we may decide to close this vacancy at an earlier date, so an early application is advised.

We are proud to be able to offer a variety of flexible working options and contracts. For further information please refer to the Flexible Working for Registered Nurses document which is attached to this advert.
