Job overview

Are you a forward-thinking healthcare professional with a passion for education, research, and service development? We are seeking a highly motivated Practice Educator (Band 7) to join our innovative Urgent Community Response (UCR) and Virtual Ward (VW) team.

In this key role, you will lead on the education and professional development of staff across our multidisciplinary team, fostering a learning culture that supports high-quality, evidence-based care in fast-paced community settings. You will coordinate and provide on site support, educational input and developmental activities to staff, practice mentors/educators and learners, providing supervision and support structures ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for excellence in practice.

You will also contribute to service development through active engagement in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and support the integration of research and evidence-based practice into clinical care. Working closely with clinical leads, you will help identify opportunities for innovation, contribute to audits and evaluations, and drive forward improvements in care delivery and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse/Professional and hold active registration with relevant Professional body
  • Degree level qualification relevant to role
  • Post Graduate qualification at Masters level relevant to role to demonstrate specialist clinical, education and leadership skills
  • Recognised teaching and education qualification
  • Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc
  • Managerial or Leadership qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Project management/Quality improvement qualification
  • Restorative supervision/Professional Nurse Advocate qualification
  • PG Cert in Education
  • Advanced Clinical Practice modules at Masters level relevant to role (Physical Assessment, Prescribing)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience in area of specialist knowledge and expertise
