The Conquest Hospital in Hastings and our Community Services were rated ‘Outstanding’ and Eastbourne DGH was rated ‘Good’ Our two acute hospitals have Emergency Departments and provide 24 hour a day care, offering a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, outpatient and maternity services, supported by a full range of diagnostic and therapy services.
In the summer of 2020, the Trust launched its ambitious ‘Building for our Future’ (BFF) programme. This once in a lifetime programme aims to redevelop and expand our hospitals at Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill, transforming the environment in which we provide care for generations to come.

Job Overview: Assessing new patients for nursing interventions in their own homes, creating and evaluating care plans. Undertaking skilled nursing interventions for a devolved caseload with support of the District Nurse and Clinical Leads. Assisting patients and carers in achieving optimal independence using best practice and following national and Trust policies and guidelines. It can be quite a challenging role at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important.

We provide a seven day service to patients from 08.00-20.00 hours. Rotational posts can also be supported

You must be able to travel independently, carrying equipment & car sharing as required. You must have access to a car and hold a current full driving license. The Trust has partnered with NHS Fleet solutions to provide a cost-effective way to lease a brand-new car via salary sacrifice.

Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria
- RN with current Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) registration
Desirable criteria
- ENB 997/998, Learning through Mentorship module, or commitment to undertake
Experience
Essential criteria
- Generic Pre Registration Experience in a care environment2
- Understanding of community nursing
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of caring within a community setting
Knowledge/Skills
Essential criteria
- An understanding of clinical governance
- Principles of infection control
- Awareness of current nursing trends and changes in the NHS
- Ability to demonstrate up to date clinical skills
- Ability to assess, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care
