EPUT ‘Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust’ is looking for an immunisation nurse to join our Milton Keynes immunisation team for a 1 year fixed term post to cover maternity leave.

The service is primarily delivered through a school-based model, offering all school aged vaccinations. We continually strive to ensure every young person has the opportunity to receive their vaccinations and this is supported through the running of community based clinics and through call and recall. 

We also offer vaccinations for the selective BCG & Hep B programmes through community based clinics.

EPUT offer a fantastic relocation package of up to £8,000. Covering a number of expenditures for new recruits relocating from 30 miles or more from their new work base at EPUT.

 

Main duties of the job

To deliver vaccinations in line with the UK National Childhood Immunisation schedule in a variety of settings across the BLMK locality.

You will be required to travel to schools and clinics across the locality when on duty.

You will be an RN/RMN/RSCN with an interest in children and a good working knowledge of the child health immunisation service. The post holder must like children and have a compassionate manner when dealing with large groups of children and be able to work in a busy school setting and clinic environment.

You will be required to support in the planning and delivery of health promotion and engaging with the local community and schools to help improve uptake of vaccinations in the area.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be responsible for the delivery of school-aged immunisations across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes; this will be in schools, clinics and homes as required. You will be working under patient group directions to administer vaccinations. Our service is very innovative and we currently utilise an electronic consent platform daily - IT skills are essential.

A current UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work is essential for this post.
