Job overview

The post holder will support, facilitate and co-ordinate the development of Clinical Governance, patient safety and Risk Management within the Healthcare Group and support the Director of Midwifery and Head of Maternity Governance and Assurance in ensuring delivery of high quality care and robust governance frameworks.

The post holder will provide support to staff working within the Healthcare Group across the area of care delivery. They will be an active member of the team for Family and Women’s services working to ensure and support effective communication pathways and thereby improving the patient experience.

Required to organise own workload on a day to day basis, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative. Will act as lead specialist for area for patient safety and quality.

Our extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Midwife
  • Evidence of clinical competence and regular clinical practice
  • Understanding of the principles of clinical risk management/Clinical Governance
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work within the Multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good listening skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a highly demanding environment
