Job overview
Senior Nurse- Safer Staffing, Band 7 (15 hours a week)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to apply for an 18-month secondment or fixed term role of Senior Nurse- Safer Staffing within Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are dedicated and committed to the community and the people that we serve in delivering safe and quality care. As Senior Nurse - Safer Staffing, you will be responsible for the overall clinical and operational delivery of the organisation's acuity and dependency safer staffing tools across the organisation. You will be involved in continued development and improvement of the safer staffing agenda and be a visible presence to all departments.
The proposed interview dates will be either 3rd or 4th June
Main duties of the job
You will work together with the Associate Chief Nurse and Lead Nurse towards shared goals for workforce planning and development. The candidate will be required to demonstrate leadership, management and communication skills. Ideally the applicant will have recent experience working at a senior level and possess some knowledge in the application of the Safer Staffing tools, Optima, change management, and feel confident to influence practice with all levels of staff. You will provide senior expertise, utilising safer staffing evidence-based tools and up-to-date relevant national guidance for safer staffing within the nursing.

Essential criteria
- Active registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse
- Master’s Degree level education or equivalent level of experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience using e-roster systems and understands good roster management
- Can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence and engage with others regardless of communication ability
Desirable criteria
- Safe Staffing Fellowship or equivalent training / qualification
Knowledge/ Skills
Essential criteria
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of SafeCare and Safer Staffing principles using a triangulated approach
- Well-developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of using Model Hospital to benchmark with others

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
