An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual to join our expanding cardiology service within the Coronary Care Unit/Cardiology Ward management team.

Main duties of the job
What we look for:
- With the support of the Matron you will analyse, monitor and implement actions that will ensure the service delivery is safe and effective in line with Trust values.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, maintaining strong working relationships with other teams within Cardiology and beyond.
- You will be responsible for the daily operational management and service delivery process within the department, along with the line management and development of the nursing team.
- Ensuring quality indicators are achieved and managed within the department.
- A high level of skill and expertise in all aspects of acute cardiology, able to provide support and guidance where required.
- You will ensure the smoothing of the unit, working as a key decision maker along side the multi discipline team, leading on aspects of clinical care and focusing on patient safety experience and quality assurance frameworks.

- Experience of staff supervision and mentorship including, employee relations, performance, conduct and training needs analysis

- Cardiology background

Essential criteria
- Advanced communication skills including; to communicate complex, sensitive or confidential information in an appropriate manner; to liaise and negotiate effectively; to understand and disseminate multifaceted information.
Desirable criteria
- Clinical Skills appropriate to the relevant speciality.
Qualifications

- Registered with NMC
Desirable criteria
- Level 5 Certificate/Diploma in Management and Leadership, or equivalent

- Professionally presented and calm approach
- Ability to work within a rapidly changing environment
