Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for existing band 3’s or band 2 health care assistants who wish to join the Asthma Allergy Service.
Our aim is to further develop your nursing skills to give a broader contribution to patient care whilst in the department. We are looking for someone who is professional and a positive role model within the team. You would be involved in a multitude of clinics primarily for the asthma and allergy services but may be called upon to help cross cover colleagues in Medical outpatients/Respiratory centre.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- You will need proven experience in a caring role and understanding of acute hospital environment and the role of HCA
- NVQ 3 in a healthcare related subject
- Be willing to develop additional skills corresponding to speciality
- Previous experience of working with the general public
- Experience of using a computer
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Flexibility and adaptable to shift/work patterns
- Demonstrates clarity and breadth in use of verbal and written communications in relation to our patient group

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Numeracy and literacy skills at level 1 & 2 (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
- Keyboard skills.
- Experience and competent in additional clinical skills
Relevant experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience in a caring role.
- Understanding of acute hospital environment and the role of SHCA
Desirable criteria
- Previous HCA experience.
- Previous experience of working with the general public.
- Experience of using a computer
