Job overview

Are you a Nurse, AHP or Clinical Research Practitioner who’s passionate about improving patient care through research?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual with experience in research to join our friendly and supportive research team based at Hereford County Hospital.

The Clinical Research Nurses / AHPs / Clinical Research Practitioners support the delivery of clinical research across the Trust providing high quality patient care and data collection. The post holder will play a key role to enable clinical research to run smoothly, efficiently and whilst ensuring the highest standards are maintained.

Applications are welcomed from individuals without prior research experience or qualifications at Band 5 level. A structured competency based development plan will be put in place over a 12 month period, with the aim of progressing to a Band 6 Clinical Research Practitioner/Nurse upon successful completion and demonstration of the required competencies.

We are very keen to meet potential applicants and would be very happy to facilitate informal visits or answer enquiries regarding the post.

Work pattern: Usually Mon-Fri 9-5 but some flexibility may be required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and management of a diverse portfolio of clinical trials, supporting participants through the research pathway in accordance with the research protocol and relevant legislation.

The role involves liaison with all relevant members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that all research is undertaken with patient safety and welfare as a key priority and that all projects are delivered efficiently, with adherence to time and target.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you will be working with a diverse range of individuals, including patients and researchers.

The post holder will work with a high level of autonomy; understand clinical trial activity and GCP and be able to complete trial documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
