Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced registered nurse (or another relevant healthcare professional) to join our team as the Deteriorating Patient Lead. This Band 8b role is crucial in ensuring the Trust delivers exceptional care for patients all ages including children and babies excluding neonates experiencing clinical deterioration. The post holder will have operational and strategic responsibility for critical care outreach teams, sepsis team, rhesus team, hospital at night and implementing and managing Martha’s rule across West Herts to ensure business plans, budgets, workforce, and staff development are in place to deliver quality service for the division and Trust.

Education
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/ AHP
- Post registration qualification in Critical care and minimum education to Degree but working/willing to work towards Masters.
- ALS Trained
- Non-medical prescriber or working towards.
Desirable criteria
- MSc Clinical practitioner.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Substantial post-registration experience, significant experience and 8A and in acute and critical care settings.
- Experience of working as outreach or equivalent
- Current knowledge of clinical practice in acute setting.

- Knowledge of current developments in the NHS, Nursing, AHPs.
