We are recruiting for an Clinical Sister / Charge Nurse who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Working with us you will enhance on your Nursing skills working within a variety of setting those including a busy Children's Ward that provides HDU care, a 24hr Assessment Unit plus a Day case Surgical area, utilising your skills within these areas will definitely make you 'think outside the box!'

Our Children’s nursing team is expanding, and is led by our Head of Nursing for Children and Young People, a Trust wide role to ensure children and young people receive high quality care wherever they access our services across the organisation.
You will be supported by Clinical Nurse Educator and Governance managers, together with a friendly multidisciplinary team and a corporate training and development team. We have in house leadership programmes and work with a range of universities to ensure you can progress through academic pathways in order to support your career development.
We are also currently devising a rotation programme for our newly qualified nurses to support them in the first 18 months as a registered nurse.

Assesses patients, plans, implements care, provides specialist advice and maintains associated records.
Working autonomously to manage a caseload of patients, acting as a lead assuming responsibility and accountability for assessing, implementing and evaluating care for the designated clinical area.
Ensure that nursing care delivered within the ward / department is compliant with legal, professional and organisational standards.
Responsible for the correct administration of prescribed medication including transfusion of blood.
To provide leadership, support and guidance to staff in monitoring the planned delivery and evaluation of individualised care.
Ensure safe and effective care for complex patients requiring advanced clinical skills.
Be responsible for assessing and recognising emergencies in the speciality.
To interpret information and take appropriate action and to lead others to do the same.
Act as an advocate for patients within the department, to ensure a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care and to meet standards within the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines.
Ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines.
Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individuals.

Qualifications
Meini prawf hanfodol
- RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register. To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality
- BSc / 1st degree (health related) or equivalent qualification / training / experience
- Mentorship / teaching qualification
Knowledge

- Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
Experience

- To include dealing with distressed relatives, care of terminally ill and other challenging situations
- Proven experience on managing a ward; including management of rotas, managing competencies, resources and staff
Skills

- Able to supervise and teach junior staff
- Able to assess plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care
- Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
