Neonatal Junior Sister/Charge Nurse

Band 6

The Tunbridge Wells Hospital was new build in 2011. We are a Level 2 unit with 18 cots; 3 Intensive Care, 8 High Dependency and 7 Special Care cots.

We are looking for a Neonatal Junior Sister/Charge Nurse with an ENB 405 qualification or equivalent.  A minimum of one year’s post course experience is required, preferably with a mentorship qualification.

Are you enthusiastic, highly motivated and looking to join a friendly team? As an experienced nurse, you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care to babies and their families. Your role will involve mentoring all grades of staff, responsibility for NNU when in charge giving the advantage of experience with management skills.

We will provide you with opportunities to develop your clinical and managerial skills, as well as supporting you in  continuing professional development you may wish to undertake.

You will be expected to attend the Trust’s Induction Programme for RNs, RMs and ODPs (which starts on the first day of employment).  The programme is full-time (please contact the programme lead if this is problematic: nicola.henthorn@nhs.net), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area and classroom-based study days which run from 9am to 5pm.

Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at enhanced level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
