Locality Network Director of Nursing & Quality – Central & West

Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) is the major health and wellbeing provider for a population of 1.7 million people across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an innovative Trust and be at the forefront of mental health and community innovation. Reporting to the Chief Nurse Officer, our Network Director of Nursing & Quality will ensure high quality care is delivered within the Network services by providing professional leadership to the Network nursing workforce and supporting the professional leadership of AHPs, Psychologists and Social Workers (SWs).  You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the clinical staff have the knowledge, capability, systems and support to embed lessons learned in practice for the improvement of patient care and promote a culture of learning and openness. Working as part of a triumvirate, this post is one of three key leaders with management, medical and nursing expertise who will be working together to provide senior strategic, visible, clinical and professional leadership across the locality.

We are looking for collaborative, driven and adaptable leaders with a strong ability to influence the strategic direction for our services. We are seeking a motivated and influential leader who is partnership led and who has significant experience engaging with stakeholders of all levels.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse Mental Health, Learning Disabilities or General
  • First Degree (Health subject)
  • Educated to relevant masters degree or prepared to study towards masters with demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise across a number of areas e.g. clinical, personnel, finance
  • Political awareness of and sensitiveness to the interactions and interdependencies between the NHS and non-NHS organisations

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent standard of report writing and action planning in relation to complex issues
  • Ability to communicate complex issues at all levels
  • Able to achieve coherence between the Trust service and financial strategies

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive managerial experience at a senior level in the NHS
  • Significant professional leadership, especially professional development, clinical governance and supervision
  • Experience of working in partnership with the public and independent sector
