Community and Intermediate Care is a forward thinking and patient focussed clinical division which provides community based and in-patient care to Pennine Lancashire. We  have in-patient facilities in Burnley, Pendle and Clitheroe and are excited to be welcoming Albion Mill in Blackburn into our group. We pride ourselves on being a compassionately led team with strong links across all sites in Pennine Lancashire. We are keen to welcome credible, expert registered nurses who are ready to further develop their leadership skills.

 The Intermediate Care team at ELHT is recognised for our ability to provide safe, personal and effective care and putting the patient at the heart of all we do. 

You will be a recognised preceptor, mentor and clinical expert with proven Quality Improvement ability and strong and supportive leadership style. You should be unafraid to challenge others and have the interpersonal skills to take a team with you. You will deputise for the unit manager during periods of leave and will be fundamental to delivery of CQC standards within practice.

 

Main duties of the job

The band 6 Team Leader will be responsible for the day to day management of the ward and prioritising care appropriately within the ward area.  you will be responsible for ensuring the staff rota's are kept up to date, ensuring quality audits are completed and action plans are developed and completed.  As a band 6 Team Leader you will be supporting the ward  manager in the day to day activities and forward planning for the ward as well as acting as a coordinator for the unit taking patient referrals and supporting with the patient management and discharge plans.  You will be responsible for ensuring patients receive safe. personal and effective care and relatives receive consistent up to date communication.  the band 6 will also be responsible for supporting junior staff develop on the ward

The Team Leader is someone whom is equally accountable for the day to day running of the ward and staff, acting as a positive role model at all times

In return we can offer you a structured orientation programme with the support of the department Ward Manager. You will be supported with datix management, roster management including supporting attendance and the clinical examination skills module at our local university.  You will be supported to develop yourself with regular one to one meetings and appraisals.

Attainments

Essential criteria
  • NMC
  • Qualification in specialty to diploma/degree level, or willingness to undertake study.
  • Appropriate Teaching assessing certificate.
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in speciality
  • Experience of recent employment in nurse a pre-registration student nurse area
