Head of Nursing Emergency Department and Same Day Emergency Care 

Croydon Health services are looking for an experienced nurse to lead the nursing teams within the Emergency Department (adult and paediatrics) and the Same Day Emergency Care unit.

Main duties of the job

Forming part of the senior leadership team for the Integrated Adult Care Directorate the post holder will report into the Deputy Director of Nursing for Integrated Adult Care, working in  a triumvirate with the General Manager and Clinical Business Unit Lead. As a team you will be responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of care, safe staffing and CQC compliance.

As an individual you will have well developed leadership and management skills, excellent clinical skills and credibility as well as the ability to motivate, influence and encourage the team.

The post holder will lead and support an open culture, ensuring learning from incidents and patient feedback to provide a cycle of continuous improvement so that the care delivered to our patients is safe, effective and compassionate.

The ED is recently built and provides a modern environment with 28 cubicles, a separate Paediatric ED, a resuscitation room and an urgent treatment centre to provide emergency care for patients who live in London’s largest borough.
