Main duties of the job

The Mental Health Liaison Team manager will lead and support staff members within the BGH Liaison Team and other members of the multidisciplinary teams, facilitating and developing innovative ways of working. The post holder will provide strong professional, clinical, operational leadership and management to support the further development of integrated care within the Barnet Liaison Team. They will lead by example and be expected to spend a proportion of their time supporting high quality clinical care within the Liaison Team. The post holder will also offer support to the North Middlesex University Hospital Psychiatric Liaison Team when required.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • RMN with significant experience at Band 6 level or equivalent.
  • Evidence of postqualification study and educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Master’s Level
  • Evidence of management training and development

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential criteria
  • Working in liaison psychiatry
  • Working under the CPA system
  • Management and supervision of staff
Desirable criteria
  • Delivered training to groups of staff.
  • Active participation in service planning and development.
  • Experience of working with service users with substance misuse problems

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Essential criteria
  • Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team
  • Articulate verbal and clear written communication skills
  • Organisational, audit and administrative skills
