Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain’s leading healthcare providers.

The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. Having lifted ourselves out of special measures, we now have the impetus and breathing space to chart a fresh course in which we are continually striving to improve all our services for patients.

Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.

Barts Health supports the Pregnancy Loss Pledge and commits to supporting their staff through the distress of miscarriage.

Job overview

**PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY**

We are proud of our Maternity Service at Whipps Cross Hospital. We are a supportive and friendly team dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care to our service users

We have just completed a £6.8m project, funded by Barts Charity to renovate women’s and maternity services to vastly improve the experience of our expectant mothers and their families. This includes a bespoke new birthing centre with 8 delivery rooms 5 with birthing pools. The delivery suite has been completely refurbished with all birthing room having on- suite facilities. In addition to this we are working closely with our redevelopment colleagues on the case for a new Whipps Cross Hospital, which will proudly host a state-of-the-art Maternity Unit.

We are looking for a passionate midwife who has an enthusiasm for triage to join our team.

Currently we are in the process of implementing BSOTs and wish to expand our existing triage team to ensure a safe transition from our current model of working.  Ideally the successful candidate will have some experience in triage.  An understanding of BSOTs would be an advantage however we are able to support development in this area for the midwives!

You will be based in Triage Department but there will be an expectation to rotate to delivery suite and other areas for upskilling.

If you would like the opportunity to develop your skills and experience and are interested in the position, we would love to hear from you.
