An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife who
can do ANY HOURS they choose to join the RCM Award-Winning
Vulnerable Women’s Team at Whipps Cross Hospital.
We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and reliable midwives who are passionate about creating excellent birthing experiences for women with complex social factors providing Midwifery Continuity of Care/r(MCOC) to join the Ruby Team.
The team of midwives will work collaboratively with the MDT, to support women during the intrapartum and inpatient period. The Ruby Team Caseloads and provides Midwifery Care to women who suffer with Moderate to Severe Mental Health Issues, Victims of Domestic
Abuse, Teenage Pregnancies, Learning Disabilities, Asylum Seekers with no support, Substance Misuse, Complex Safeguarding Issues etc.

Qualifications

- NMC Registered Midwife- minimum 2 years post Registration
- Mentorship or practice assessor qualification
- Experience/special interest in working with vulnerable service user.
- Experience/knowledge of safeguarding issues in maternity/children’s setting

- NIPE Trained Attended cultural awareness course
Communication

Skills

- Able to work autonomously and deal with obstetric emergencies.
- Ability to carry out essential and appropriate midwifery care and procedures.
- Demonstrate competence in: Perineal suturing, cannulation, epidural top ups, caring for people birthing their babbies in water and in the home/birth centre settings.
- Basic IT skills and understanding of NHS IT systems.
- Ability to monitor the quality of own and others work.
- Ability to recognise own limits and work within those limits of competence.
