Job overview

Access to formal courses of education at local universities, the Barts Health Network and Capital Nurse is available to facilitate professional development. This post requires successful candidates to undertake shift work, which will include working at nights and weekends.

Qualifications and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Minimum of 2 years ED experience at Band 5 or above
- Intravenous accreditation
- Prep for Mentorship course or equivalent
- Specialist A&E Course
- Fulfils KSF outline for Staff Nurse (Band 5)
- ILS/PILS or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- BSc Nursing or working towards
- ALS / EPLS
- Advanced Trauma Course or equivalent
Communication

- Ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary team
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels across the Department and Directorate
- The ability to communicate with patients in an empathetic manner regarding their treatment and procedures
