Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic individuals to join the Neuro Emergency and Trauma research team at ICHT. We can offer you a fantastic opportunity to gain research delivery experience in a number of different specialties in one of the most dynamic and innovative Academic Health Science Centers in the UK.

We are looking to recruit two Band 6 Clinical Research Nurses to join us working within the fields of Accident & Emergency, Neurosurgery and Trauma, primarily based at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington. The role requires cross-site working, mostly at Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith. The post offers a unique opportunity for motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic individuals who wish to further develop their careers within research.

The role will involve providing support for studies within the NET portfolio, including patient-facing study delivery, support and management, from the set-up phase through to dissemination of research findings. Within the role, research nurses are expected to recruit, educate and monitor research participants, completing clinical assessments and accurate collection and documentation of research data.

This role has an emphasis on research integration within the clinical setting here at Imperial, and very much focusses on patient advocacy throughout the research process.

NMC registration is essential for this post. Prior knowledge and experience of research delivery within a healthcare setting in addition to clinical experience or knowledge within the specialist clinical areas would be advantageous for the post.

Continued training and education are essential within this role and we have a strong commitment to the growth and development of the individuals within the team.

This role requires the successful candidate to be patient-facing, working within the clinical areas of (but not restricted to) the major trauma patient pathway.  This will include taking consent and samples from patients diagnosed with ID/Covid and working in Covid positive areas.

Interviews will be held on 8th and 9th May. There will be information provided to shortlisted candidates a week prior, to prepare a short presentation.
