Job overview

The ARAS COPD support team at NMGH aims to provide high standard care to patients across both primary and secondary care settings. Using up to date research based care we aim to enable patients to continue living to the best of their ability from diagnosis, acute care through to long-term management. The ARAS COPD support team focuses on maximising care whilst minimising time in hospital. 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and well organised individual with highly developed skills within respiratory care to join the team which provides:

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Early supported discharge

Admission avoidance

Community Nurse Led and Consultant clinics

Education and Teaching for the wider community such as practice nurses, community staff and GP's

Post COVID work, supporting patients in virtual and face to face clinics.

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Nursing, Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • NMC or HPC registration
  • 3 years post registration experience including respiratory as speciality
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching, supervisory and appraisal skills and experience
  • Advanced clinical reasoning skills
  • Experience in audit, research and development
  • Good IT skills
