Job overview

The Perinatal Outreach Team are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our new service. The successful applicant will be part of an innovative new project to improve access to perinatal services, including to with CERN during the perinatal period.

Successful applicants will join a passionate and motivated team of practitioners, with a strong emphasis on training, supervision and support. The perinatal outreach team will be compassionately led, trauma informed and recovery focussed. The successful applicant will support the team to develop and deliver trauma informed, co-produced person-centred care. They will have a clinically-focussed role, delivering therapeutic evidence-based interventions to individuals with complex emotional and relational needs. They will provide compassionate leadership, support, consultation and supervision to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams; and provide training to wider teams and services.

Applicants should hold a professional qualification such as Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Social Worker, or Registered Occupational Therapist. Experience working in a Community Mental Health Team is desirable, though relevant experience in other clinical settings would be considered.

Main duties of the job

This exciting opportunity is for a skilled, values driven and motivated practitioner to join an innovative and newly developing service for women and birthing people in the perinatal period.

The Senior Practitioner will provide clinical leadership, consultation and supervision to colleagues in the Perinatal Outreach Team. They will promote inclusion, collaboration and optimism, and role model excellent clinical care. With support from the team manager, they will deliver training to colleagues and services across Manchester.

Senior Practitioners will be expected to participate in and facilitate individual and group clinical supervision and take advantage of the development opportunities available.

There is a requirement to travel within the Manchester area across a large footprint.

Senior Practitioners will be required to work Monday-Friday, there is a possibility of weekend working in the future and a requirement to participate in the Bronze on call rota, providing clinical and operational leadership outside of office hours including weekends and public holidays.
