An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy Unit at the Trafford General Hospital, for an Endoscopy Sister/Charge Nurse.
The MFT Endoscopy service has access to 8 procedure rooms across two sites, MRI & TGH where our procedures are varied and diverse and include diagnostic and major therapeutic procedures i.e. gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy , colonoscopy, PEG insertion, bronchoscopy, double balloon enteroscopy, endoscopic ultrasound & ultrasound guided therapy, ERCP & spyglass/HALO radiofrequency ablation.
What’s more, we also host the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and Bowel Scope Service so they're a real range of specialisms to develop your skills and experience. The service is also setting up an Endoscopy Academy for both nurses and doctors, coupled with a satellite teaching facility.
As Junior Sister/Charge Nurse you’ll deal with both in and outpatients requiring both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures and be responsible for the daily coordination of the team to ensure the very best patient care and that the unit functions efficiently and effectively.
You’ll need to be able to work well under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations whilst also supporting other members of the nursing team. You must have excellent team working and communication skills, you'll need to be able to work quickly and effectively within a very busy and expanding service. This role will enhance your existing endoscopy procedure room knowledge and skills with the full support of our friendly, committed team. We encourage personal development and will of course provide opportunities for further training to provide you with everything necessary to advance your own career.
You will be primarily based at the Trafford General Hospital Endoscopy Unit but will provide senior cover at the MRI when required.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
