An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, dynamic individuals to join our Site Management Team, as Senior Nurses for Patient Flow and Site Management.
The post holders will be key members of the site management team, to lead and co-ordinate capacity which supports effective clinical flow and maintains patient safety. They need to balance emergency and elective demands effectively will be critical components of the role and as senior nurses you will work alongside managers and clinical partners to keep patients safe.
The successful applicant will be a role model who inspires confidence, demonstrates excellent communication, organisation, decision-making and problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to collate complex information from multi-factorial sources, have confidence to escalate issues outside of the role responsibilities and lead on improvement projects.
We are looking for candidates with operational, management and leadership skills. Your attention to detail is essential with the ability to work within an unpredictable and pressured environment at pace, where operational priorities may change at short notice to meet timeframes for access to patient-focused pathways and clinical need.
A flexible and committed work ethos is required, with an open mind to change, whilst working within 24/7 service provision as part of a rotational team. You will be a self-motivated individual with a positive ‘can do’ attitude who has supervisory experience within a team.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will provide professional leadership and line management to the patient Pathway Co-ordinators. This is a leadership role focused on the quality of the patient experience through delivery of high quality, safe and effective care. Reporting to the clinical site manager, the post holder will ensure the key functions of the role are undertaken across WTWA. The post holder will work with operational managers, nursing teams and clinicians across the site to ensure effective delivery of patient pathways and ensure effective site management aligned to the Trust escalation processes.
- In this senior leadership role, the post holder will demonstrate the values and behaviours that are explicit in the Trust Strategy. The post holder will be responsible for leading safe, resilient and consistent operational site management and facilitate safe and effective discharge in line with the Trust policies and procedures and SAFER standards.
- The post holder will be part of a rotational team managing patient flow 24/7 across WTWA. This will improve the bed management functions across WTWA, providing a consistent approach to bed management, flow, and discharge management.
- The post holder will lead regular operation bed meetings, ensure patient focus, and prioritise plans to manage daily challenges to maintain delivery of organisational targets and standards.
