Service/Ward/Department Summary:

We are a dynamic integrated Children and Young Peoples Service in Heywood Middleton and Rochdale working to achieve positive outcomes for young people up to the age of 19 years, with emerging neurodevelopmental and mental health issues. We offer both assessment and intervention. The Healthy Young Minds team works closely with our [partner agencies and this is an exciting time to join the team and help influence a full Borough Multi-agency pathway .

Role Summary:

The post holder will be a specialist practitioner and resource in this area, and will take the lead in the development and provision of specialist nursing provision within the HMR multi agency ADHD care pathway working across with-in  the healthy young minds team. The work will include developing nurse led clinics, and supporting both group and one to one health care and behavioural management advice to families, schools and other service providers.

In addition to clinical work, the post holder will also be expected to undertake consultation, support and expertise to the teams and partners within the borough. As a band 7, the post holder will also be expected to support practice by offering supervision to junior staff, and to developing policy and process to underpin excellent standards of care quality within the pathway.


Key Responsibilities of the Post:

• The post holder will with-in  healthy young minds teams to provide expert skills and knowledge in relation to complex neurodevelopmental presentations.
• The post holder will hold an agreed case load of children with highly complex neurodevelopmental needs who require both assessment and intervention.
• Liaison and consultation with other professionals and networks as appropriate
• The postholder will have the ability to run nurse led clinics and be able to develop information for families and lead groups.



Key Requirements of the post:

• First level qualification/ registration RMN, RSCN
• Minimum 2 years CAMHS experience
• Non-Medical Prescriber or willingness to train
• Postgraduate specialism appropriate to the role.
• Supervisory qualification.
• Team worker within and beyond organisational boundaries.
