Nursing Associate Critical Care

Please note you need to be registered as a Nursing Associate with the NMC.
Critical Care comprises of a 40 bedded Critical Care Unit.
The Critical Care Unit cares for level 2 & 3 General Adult, Surgical, Neuro and Trauma patients.
We are looking to recruit a Qualified Nurse Associate to work on our Critical Care. You will be based within Critical Care and will be expected to rotate across all the areas of the NCA to gain more expertise in the diverse area of nursing within the Critical Care setting. We encourage Qualified Nurse Associate's to apply who have had the following experience during their training:
• Critical Care / HDU
• Neuroscience
• Surgical experience
• Experience working within an acute hospital setting

- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
- Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
- Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice

- Previous Critical Care experience
Abilities

- Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
- Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload
- Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non verbal communication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners and health care support workers as required within the clinical setting.
- Maintain high standards of quality in corporate and clinical record keeping ensuring information is always recorded accurately, appropriately and kept up to date
