We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 3 Healthcare support Worker to work at CCC –  in the Clatterbridge Private clinic. 

As we deliver treatments in two clinics there will be an element of cross cover between the Wirral and Liverpool clinics.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire.

Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral.



Main duties of the job

The Clatterbridge Private Clinic Wirral and Liverpool

The working hours are 8am – 6pm Monday – Friday, 18.75 hrs a week.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work alongside and support our chemotherapy team. The post provides support to Registered Nurses and other members of the multi-professional team to deliver nursing care and treatment within the out-patient chemotherapy environment and includes the chemotherapy network clinics.

The Health Care Support Worker role also involves the undertaking of clerical duties; providing hands-on care, assistant and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performing phlebotomy, performing observations T.P.R. BM urinalysis, care of central lines, cannulation and maintain documentation.

The post will also be responsible for obtaining blood results. There is an element of housekeeping, which involves ordering stock, keeping the unit clean and tidy and providing refreshments to patients. Excellent communication skills are essential and cannulation experience is desired.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Functional skills minimum Level 2 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent or working towards.
  • Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker/Adult Care Worker
  • Holds National Care Certificate
Desirable criteria
  • Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker or willing to work towards

Knowledge
