Staff Nurse – Holbrook Unit
Burns and Plastic Surgery
Part Time – 22.5 Hours Per Week
£23,023 - £29,608 Per Annum Pro Rata
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Staff Nurse to join our friendly and dedicated team on the Holbrook Unit at Whiston Hospital.
We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals, with a passion for excellence within the delivery of patient care.
The Holbrook Unit at Whiston Hospital is part of the Burns and Plastic Unit and has its own operating theatre. It provides an excellent service for patients undergoing surgery to remove cancerous or benign lesions under local anaesthetic as a day case with reconstruction if necessary ie; skin grafts or flap repairs.
These patients are often very anxious both because of the diagnosis but also the site of the surgery and the often complex reconstruction involved. Being mindful of the patient as an individual and implementing their care accordingly, we ensure effective communication takes place on admission through to discharge and that adequate discharge information is given to patient and carers (when required) for their wellbeing. The Holbrook Unit team liaise with some of the Trusts other appropriate departments eg; ECG, Warfarin Clinics and other Satellite Clinics involved with patient care.
