We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible practitioner to join our small and friendly Pre-Operative Assessment Team. The successful candidate will have an interest in peri-operative care and be able to thrive in a busy area with many time pressures and deadlines. However, this post also provides a great deal of job satisfaction and the opportunity to provide one to one patient care.
You should possess:
- NMC Registered Nurse Part 1
- Teaching and Assessing Qualification
- Highly developed communication skills
- Skills in Venepuncture and ECG
Main duties of the job
- Assess medical, social and psychological needs of patient, devise solutions if appropriate or refer to other health professionals
- Request or perform relevant medical test according to criteria.
- identify factors which may delay discharge and act on as necessary
- Directly communicate and liaise with medical staff to resolve any identified issues relating to patients admission
- Liaise with access & bookings and ward staff to ensure smooth admission process and identify specific needs or requirements

From 1st July we have come together as a single organisation under the name Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
