An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated registered nurses to join our Orthopaedic team looking after elective orthopaedic patients  on a 36 bedded unit in St Woolos Hospital Newport. This is a well run unit dedicated to providing excellent care for our elective orthopaedic patients who undergo hip and knee replacements and many other orthopaedic procedures. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to rotate to the Trauma wards in the Royal Gwent Hospital to further their experience and expand their knowledge.


The shift patterns on the ward are 7.5 hour days shifts covering between 7.00:14:50 and 13:40-21:30 and the night shifts covering 21:10-7:30

The successful applicant must have an interest in orthopaedic nursing, must be hard working, with good communication skills and be able to work well in a team. Individuals must be motivated, enthusiastic and reliable. You must be a team player who is committed to improving the patient experience.

The ward aims to give high quality care to all elective patients and the new team member must be committed to continual service improvement within the specialities.

Please note: All students trained in a  Welsh University to apply for posts via the Streamlining process.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh applicants are equally welcome to apply.
